Lyon low-emission zone 2026: which cars are affected and how to plan ahead

The Grand Lyon low-emission zone covers most of the metropolitan area. Since January 1st, 2025, vehicles rated Crit'Air 5, 4, and 3 as well as unclassified vehicles have been banned from circulating there — diesels registered between 2006 and 2011 are notably affected, as stated directly by the Métropole de Lyon on its official ZFE website.
